My intercalated degree is finished!
Hi everyone! Hope you’re all staying well in these uncertain times! 2020 has not been what everyone expected it to be. I hoped to have posted more often about what I was up to but with the world turning upside down in the course of a few days back in March that didn’t happen! I was also out and about a lot doing fieldwork and then when I was back I was doing tuition so I was busy most of the time. I wanted to write a final farewell post, and I can’t believe the time has gone so quickly!
I just had my final exam a couple of days ago, online, which at the start of the academic year we wouldn’t have seen coming! It really was a struggle to be motivated to revise for an open book exam whilst being stuck at home with all the distractions!
Sadly the situation meant I couldn’t continue long with my fieldwork which was a real shame, but I just about managed to get enough data for my project on the Asiatic lions at Chester Zoo before lockdown to answer my question and write my report! Uni was great giving us advice and adapting to the situation so we could still complete our coursework! 7000 words later and that’s a wrap!
Degree results for us come out on 29th June; I don’t know yet when I’ll be able to graduate which was planned for July this year. Hopefully things will get back to normal soon so we can celebrate in style!
I’m very sad to have said goodbye to the beautiful Liverpool and Wirral peninsula 3 months prematurely, but this year has been absolutely amazing and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my year away from Bristol. I can’t wait to go back and see everyone and complete my vet degree with that extra bit of knowledge, and likely a new way of looking at things!
